😟 What worry may do to you?

Fear causes worry. Worry makes you tense and nervous and affects the nerves of your stomach and actually changes the gastric juices of your stomach from normal to abnormal and often leads to stomach ulcers.

‘Seventy per cent of all patients who come to physicians could cure themselves if’ they only got rid of their fears and worries.

Businessmen who do not know how to fight worry die young. Think of it “a third of our business executives are wrecking their bodies with heart disease, ulcers, and high blood pressure before they even reach forty-five. What price success! And they aren’t even buying success!

🏆 How to keep worry away?

1️⃣ Ask yourself What’s the worse can happen?

Ask yourself, “What is the worst that can possibly happen?” Prepare to accept it if you have to and then calmly proceed to improve on the worst.

2️⃣ Live in day tight compartments

Thinking about future causes wastage of energy, mental distress and nervous worries. Best possible way for tomorrow is to use intelligent and enthusiasm in doing today’s work.

If you want to keep worry out of your life, then ask yourself these questions:

“Every day brings a choice: to practice stress or to practice peace. “Life is too short to worry about anything. You had better enjoy it because the next day promises nothing. -Eric Davis

3️⃣ Don’t resent on your past

We can’t modify our past, what has happened can’t be changed. The only constructive step we can take is to

“Of course, you can’t saw sawdust!”. “It’s already sawed! And it’s the same with the past. When you start worrying about things that are over and done with, you’re merely trying to saw sawdust.”

Wise men never sit and wail their loss, but cheerily seek how to redress their harms.

4️⃣ 90% of your worries wont happen.

Ask yourself “what percentage of the outcomes that you worried about actually happened?”. You will find that 90% fo the things you worried about never happened. Nearly all the worries and unhappiness, come from their imagination, and not from reality.’

The next time you and I are worrying about what may happen, let’s take ask ourselves, based on the past experiences what are the chances that this event I am worrying about will ever occur?

The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another.” “When you begin to worry, go find something to do. -Joyce Meyer

5️⃣ Problems, misfortunes, issues and hurdles are inevitable.

It’s in the ego of a human that he believes to have the power to control all the problems, issues and misfortunes in life. But he need to understand that they are inevitable and fighting them is fighting true nature of universe. Acceptance is the key here.

“When I am up against a tough situation, if I can do anything about it, I do it. If I can’t, I just forget it. I never worry about the future, because I know no man living can possibly figure out what is going to happen in the future. There are so many forces that will affect that future! Nobody can tell what prompts those forces-or understand them. So why worry about them?”

When we stop fighting the inevitable, we release energy which enables us to create a richer life. No one has enough power and emotions to fight the inevitable, if we are too busy fighting it, we can’t succeed further in life. So either you can keep resisting the inevitable or gain experience from it and move on. Gaining knowledge from life hurdles will eventually make you stronger and tougher for a bumpy life.

Wisdom is understanding what is inevitable and what can be solved.

6️⃣ Put a stop loss on your worries

I began to place a stop-loss order on any and every kind of annoyance and resentment that came to me. It has worked like magic.

Each worry incurs a cost, which is our time and energy. Having a mental clarity on how much cost we are going to bear to get this worry removed from our life is called putting a stop loss on it. If it crosses the stop loss threshold, simply forget the worry and move on. Its not worth the cost we are investing on it.

7️⃣ Life is too short to worry

How big all those worries seemed years ago! But they all seem absurd now. We face major challenges in our life with bravery, and we often worry before the event. But do we want to live a life in worry? Certainly not. It’s about making a choice to worry or not.

🦾 Habit Changes to reduce worries:

1️⃣ Keep your mind busy.

It is difficult to worry while you are busy doing something that requires planning and thinking. If you keep your mind pre-occupied in something more important, then its difficult to worry. This is based on principle: “It is utterly impossible for any human mind, no matter how brilliant, to think of more than one thing at any given time.”

Research men rarely have nervous breakdowns. They don’t have time for such luxuries.

An empty mind is usually more worried as it doesn’t have anything else important to do. It starts giving the importance to inevitable. The remedy for worry is to get completely occupied doing something constructive. Our mind can’t sit free, it constantly want to process information, and when we don’t feed it with important things it tends to run behind the non-important things.

2️⃣ Reduce fatigue

Fatigue often produces worry, or, at least, it makes you susceptible to worry. So preventing fatigue tends to prevent worry. So Rest often. Rest before you get tired and you will be able to work on fresh and fit.

Rest is repair.”

If you can sleep for an hour around five, six, or seven o’clock, you can add one hour a day to your waking life. How? Because an hour’s nap before the evening meal plus six hours’ sleep at night-a total of seven hours will do you more good than eight hours of unbroken sleep.

✏️ 4 Habits to avoid fatigue:

👉🏼 Habit No. 1: Clear Your Desk of All Papers Except Those Relating to the Immediate Problem at Hand.

“A person with his desk piled high with papers on various matters will find his work much easier and more accurate if he clears that desk of all but the immediate problem on hand. I call this good housekeeping, and it is the number-one step toward efficiency,” The mere sight of a desk littered with unanswered mail and reports and memos is enough to breed confusion, million things to do them” can to do and no time worry you not only into tension and fatigue, but it can also worry you into high blood pressure, heart trouble, and stomach ulcers.

“Men do not die from overwork. They die from dissipation and worry.” Yes, from dissipation of their energies and worry because they never seem to get their work done.

👉🏼 Habit No. 2: Do Things in the Order of Their Importance.

I have gotten up at five o’ clock in the morning because I can think better then than any other time. I can think better then and plan my day, plan to do things in the order of their importance.”

👉🏼 Habit No. 3: Don’t Keep Putting off Decisions.

When You Face a Problem, Solve It Then and There if You Have the Facts Necessary to Make a Decision.

👉🏼 Habit No. 4: Learn to Organize, Deputize, and Supervise.

The man who builds up a big business, and doesn’t learn to organize, deputize, and supervise, usually pops off with heart trouble in his fifties or early sixties-heart trouble caused by tension and worries.

3️⃣ Get into deep relaxation while working.

Mental tasks alone can’t make you tired. But if you took a drop of blood from the brain of an Albert Einstein, it would show no fatigue toxins whatever at the end of the day. The brain is utterly tireless….

Most of the fatigue for sedantary workers is becase of emotional and psychological factors like boredom, resentment, feeling of not being appriciated, hurry, anxiety, worry.

We believe that hardwork requires effort and effort will result to fatigue. This is true for physical work but isnt true for a sedatary/mental work. Our brain muscles never get tired, not even while sleeping. We might get tired because of our posture, sitting for long hours, but our brain and mental strength is never reduced. So learn to relax while you are doing your work, invest in ergonomics. Don’t use a muscle if you dont have to.

Just like meditation before starting work, say to yourself “Relax any muscle that you dont have to use.” and you will be able to work for long.

But the most important organ of all is the eye, if you can completely relax the muscles of the eyes, you can forget all your troubles! The reason the eyes are so important in relieving nervous tension is that they burn up one-fourth of all the nervous energies consumed by the body. So invest on good quality high dpi color accurate montiors, use flux if it helps you.

Keep checking your self throughout the day “Am I relaxed or not?” and at the end of the day measure the amount of fatigue you have, if there is no fatigue that means you did well.

4️⃣ Reduce Boredom

Boredom produces fatigue. Psycologists have conducted tests that show the blood pressure of the body and the consumption of oxygen actually decrease when a person is bored, and that the whole metabolism picks up immediately as soon as he begins to feel interest and pleasure in his work!

“The lucky folks are the ones that get to do the things they enjoy doing.” Such folk are lucky because they have more energy, more happiness, less worry, and less fatigue. I also found I can work faster when I enjoy my work.

If you act “as if you are interested in your job, that bit of acting will tend to make your interest real. It will also tend to decrease your fatigue, your tensions, and your worries.

Give yourself a pep talk every day. Make yourself belive that you love your work and find enjoyment in each work that you do, and interestingly you won’t feel boredom.

Our life is what our thoughts make it.

Think only of what getting interested in your job will do for you. About one half of your waking hours at your work, and if you don’t find happiness in your work, you may never find it anywhere.

5️⃣ Ignore criticism

I discovered years ago that although I couldn’t keep people from criticizing me unjustly, I could do something infinitely more important: I could determine whether I would let the unjust condemnation disturb me. Never be bothered by what people say, as long as you know in your heart you are right.

Next time you get criticism, then just laugh about it, and see how all your worries go away.

Remember that no one ever kicks a dead dog. Yes, and the more important a dog is, the more satisfaction people get in kicking him. So when you are kicked and criticized, remember that it is often done because it gives the kicker a feeling of importance. it often means that you are accomplishing something and are worthy of attention.

Remember that unjust criticism is often a disguised compliment.

6️⃣ Fool things I have done

I have a folder in my private filing cabinet marked ‘FTD”-short for “Fool Things I Have Done.” When I get out my “FTD” folders and reread the criticisms I have written of myself, they help me deal with the toughest problem I shall ever face

Every man is a damn fool for at least five minutes every day. Wisdom consists in not exceeding that limit. Let’s be our own most severe critic. If there is a weakness, then you should be the one to find it.

If we hear that someone has spoken ill of us, let’s not try to defend ourselves. Every fool does that. Let’s be originaland humbleand brilliant! Let’s confound our critic and win applause for ourselves by saying: “If my critic had known about all my other faults, he would have criticized me much more severely than he did.”

Let’s keep a record of the fool things we have done and criticize ourselves. Since we can’t hope to be perfect, let’s do what we can and ask for unbiased, helpful, constructive criticism.

7️⃣ Pray

The sovereign cure for worry is religious faith. Psychiatrists realize that prayer and a strong religious faith will banish the worries, the anxieties, the strains and fears that cause more than half of our ills.

A little philosophy inclineth man’s mind to atheism; but depth in philosophy bringeth men’s minds about to religion.

“Faith is one of the forces by which men live,” he declared, and the total absence of it means collapse. Even Gandhi himself said so. ‘Without prayer, he wrote, “I should have been a lunatic long ago. “Prayer is the most powerful form of energy one can generate. It is a force as real as terrestrial gravity. As a physician, I have seen men, after all other therapy had failed, lifted out of disease and melancholy by the serene effort of prayer…

In prayer, human beings seek to augment their finite energy by addressing themselves to the Infinite source of all energy. When we pray, we link ourselves with the inexhaustible motive power that spins the universe. As soon as I turned all my problems over to a power greater than I myself, I immediately felt a peace of mind that hadn’t known in months.

The really religious person is accordingly unshakeable and full of equanimity, and calmly ready for any duty that the day may bring forth.

Prayer helps us to put into words exactly what is troubling us. Praying, in a way, is very much like writing our problem down problem on paper. If we ask help for a even from God -we must put it into words. Prayer gives us a sense of sharing our burdens, of not being alone. Sometimes our worries are of so intimate a nature that we cannot discuss them even with our closest relatives or friends.

Prayer is the most powerful form of energy one can generate.

8️⃣ Don’t worry about ingratitude

Gratitude is a fruit of great cultivation. You do not find it among average people. Human nature has always been static and it probably won’t change in your lifetime. Let’s not expect gratitude. Then, if we get some occasionally, it will come as a delightful surprise. If we don’t get it, we won’t be disturbed.

It is natural for people to forget to be grateful; so, if we go around expecting gratitude, we are headed straight for a lot of heartaches. If we want to find happiness, lets stop thinking about gratitude or ingratitude and give for the inner joy of giving.

Instead of worrying about ingratitude, let’s expect it.

9️⃣ High cost of getting even

When we hate our enemies, we are giving them power blood, pressure, our health, and our happiness. Our enemies would dance with joy if only they knew how they were worrying us, and getting even with us! Our hate is not hurting them at all, but our hate is turning our own days and nights into a hellish turmoil. If selfish people try to take advantage of you, cross them off your list, but don’t try to get even. When you try to get, even, you hurt yourself more than you hurt the other fellow.

The chief personality characteristic of persons with hypertension [high blood pressure] is resentment. When resentment is chronic, chronic hypertension and heart trouble follow.

Always remember that it takes a bigger man to walk away from a fight than it does to stay and fight.’

Let’s love ourselves so much that we won’t permit our enemies to control our happiness, our health, and our looks. For sake of our own health and happiness, let’s at least forgive them and forget them.

A man is wise who won’t be angry.

🔟 Count your blessings not your troubles

If you count your blessings right now, you will be shocked how the troubles look minisqule in front of them. Why don’t you stop right now and ask yourself: “What in the hell am I worrying about?” You will probably find that it is comparatively unimportant and insignificant. About ninety per cent of the things in our lives are right and about ten per cent are wrong. If we want to be happy, all we have to do is to concentrate on the ninety per cent that are right and ignore the ten per cent that are wrong. Think of all we have to be grateful for, and thank God for all our gifts.

The habit formed then of counting my blessings each morning still remains with me. The habit of looking on the best side of every instance relases all worries instantly.

🅰️ Make lemonade if life gives you lemons

Life always gives lemons (troubles). But when the wise man is handed a lemon, he says: “What lesson can learn from this misfortune? How can I improve my situation? Wonder-filled characteristics of human beings is “their power to turn a minus into a plus.

Happiness is not mostly pleasure; it is mostly victory. Yes, the victory that comes from a sense of achievement, of triumph, of turning our lemons into lemonades. The most important thing in life is not to capitalize on your gains. Any fool can do that. The really important thing is to profit from your losses.

Two reasons why we have everything to gain and nothing to lose while turning lemons into lemonade:

The really important thing is to profit from your losses. That requires intelligence; and it makes the difference between a man of sense and a fool.

When fate hands us a lemon, let’s try to make lemonade.

🅱️ Spread happiness and treat everyone equal

Our life is not ment to dominate others, instead we are all supposed to be on equal grounds. But sadly we all have created this imaginary ladders and herarchies that causes indifferences among us. Life is not about being a self-centered but its about making others happy.

Try to think every day how you can please some one. See what this means to them. You can make use of all the time you spend when you are unable to go to sleep by thinking how you can please some one, and it will be a big step forward in your health.” As soon as he can connect himself with his fellow men on an equal and co-operative footing, he is cured of worries

It is the individual who is not interested in his fellow man who has the greatest difficulties in life and provides the greatest injury to others.

Trying to please others will cause us to stop thinking of ourselves: the very thing that produces worry and fear and melancholia. I found that happiness is contagious. By giving, we receive. By helping someone and giving out love, I had conquered worry and sorrow and self-pity, and felt like a new person. hinking of others will not only keep you from worrying about yourself; it will also help you to make a lot of friends and have a lot of fun.

Forget yourself by becoming interested in others. Do every day a good deed that will put a smile of joy on someone’s face.
